Sony TV IR commands stopped working...

Ok.. I usually control the TV through a Panasonic Showstopper ReplyTV  
remote.  When that didn't work, I tried the original remote for the TV  
and replaced batteries.

Nothing is in front of the TV as it is on it's own stand in the air.

I appreciate the classic ideas but it is certainly the remote commands  
that aren't being received.
