X10 weirdness

Chuck,

I know my UPS and Laptop "Brick" are both terrible signal suckers.

If I put the crusty stinky filter in line, the "Signal Sucking" is 
stopped.

If I have any bare wires, then I will toss it unless I am confident I can 
cover properly with electrical tape.

And I will put where it WILL NOT fall prey to anything over a one or two 
amp load.

I also have it where no children or pets can get to it.
