Just cut off a corner of a 2x4 at a 45 degree angle and mount that in  
the corner. Then mount the sensor over that. If you get real creative  
you can cut a slight downward slop to the sensor.

You will have to pre-drill the screw holes as the 2x4's these days  
are so cheap that they will splint easily if you just try and drill  
it. You can get a long sheet rock screw at the hardware store which  
will reach through the block of wood and through to the stud. Only  
one is required since it will not spin in the corner. You can paint  
it before you put it in there to make it less obtrusive.

Also the sensors have pretty good peripheral vision and can see  
almost 160 degrees.
