Monitoring Voltage

I don't test mine but I bought a security system control board for
nothing on ebay. I use it as a battery charge system for my batteries
since it has all the charge and trickle charge already designed into
its firmware for lead-acid gel batteries. It also acts as the 12V
supply for the security stuff and the battery is just backup.
It did cost me $10 at Home Depot to buy a metal box to put it in.
If your battery is always on the charge system then monitoring it will
not be sufficient for testing. Fancy UPS systems actually have to run
off the battery to test it, or take it off the charge system and test
it.
