My heat pump thermostat is in a hallway that gets a sort of average  
temp in the house. But the sunny end of the house is always warmer,  
and the sleeping end colder. To some extent this is OK, but if it  
gets too extreme I just leave the heat pump fan on to redistribute  
the air.

All manual, but it works OK.
