I remember trying this quite some time ago and while I don't recall
the specifics, the end result was that it didn't work now - something
like iTunes ignored the alias and insisted in looking on the local
hard drive for it's library. Since my library file is only 19M, I
don't mind having multiple libraries and it allows me to have
different playlist etc on each system. I have found that when I'm at
work and doing something that is very network intensive, there may be
pauses in the playback - the worst is if I choose to buy something
from the iTunes store and download it while listening to something
else - it's so bad, I've decided that I will only buy my tunes when
I'm at home and can do the download while local. Then I've got 100M
between my laptop and music server, so no problem.
