that's what I do - works fine. Use the finder's "connect to server"
option to connect to the system with all the music, go into itunes
preferences and change where it thinks the music is store to be the
itunes music folder on that connected server. Then to get the music
to appear in your library, to itunes file menu and select add to
library function and point and the same directory where the music
already is - it will populate your library database and not actually
have to move the files at all since they are already where it thinks
they belong. Keep in mind that using this approach, if you add songs
through one computer, while they will be added to the servers music
folder, they will not show up in anyone else's library until they
repeat the add to library step.
