Starting all over again...

Well, after my OS 9 Xtension box bit the dust (never let house guests
use a computer you don't want them to break!), I finally picked up an
old iMac (raspberry) and a copy of XTension for OS X (5.3).

Since the old Xtension computer used the CM11a interface with a
serial port conection, I needed to pick up a new interface for the
non-serial-ported iMac. So I bought a CM15a, figuring it was
contemporary equivalent.

And since I didn't have a hard drive enclosure for the dead
computer's disk, I figured I'd just rebuild my whole XTension system
from scratch.

No so easy, of course. I plugged in the CM15a, fired up XTension, set
it to use the CM15 interface, left the "Wireless" option disabled
(since I don't fully understand what it's for anyway). The interface
is NOT in monitor only mode, and appears to be recognized.

I started setting up my existing units...house codes E, F, and G.
Unfortunately, they're doing absolutely nothing. Toggling the status
gives me a "Sending ON to [whatever]", but no ack (will acks always
display), and the actual status of the lights doesn't change.

I opened the Transmission queue, and there are N items in the queue,
one for each toggling attempt I made. They're not going anywhere, and
they've been sitting in the queue for 30 minutes now. Looking in the
console log, it appears that I keep throwing a cm15.isf.crash.log.
And half the time I relaunch XTension, it yells at me about making
sure I have the cm15.kext file in the Extensions folder (which,
obviously, I do).

I tried updating to the latest beta, but I'm getting the same results.

All I really want to do is re-establish the basic functionality I had
with the CM11...and perhaps the CM15a wasn't the best choice. I
remain totally ignorant of the pros and cons of the LynX, or the
PowerLinc USB, or the Audrey, or any of the non-CM11 devices that
have cropped up since I last messed with all this. Is there a better
interface I should be working with? I do have one of the older X10
wireless security system (you know the one), which is why I thought
the CM15a sounded like a good choice. But since I can't even get it
to send a simple X10 signal, I don't even know where to begin...

Ugh. Help!
