I have an X-10 appliance module version for backup power resets. You
need access to a second server for this to work. Main server runs
XTension, my mail servers, DNS master and important things. This is
behind an ACT 15 amp filter, a UPS, a long powerbar tiewrapped to
metro shelf.
The backup computer is on a different UPS behind the ACT filter for
power fail longevity reasons. This backup server does redundant DNS
for inside the house. It runs a demo version of XTension with a CM-11
plugged into the long powerbar. An appliance module sits on the
powerbar feeding the main server.

I have a script run to turn on this appliance module every hour just
in case.

If the main server is unresponsive and I can reach the backup server,
then I can use XTension to toggle the power on the main server which
is set to boot on power outage recovery.

I manage things via timbuktu mostly but X2web would work too, if you
get a second license from James:-)

I suppose I need to really make a nice picture to show this.
