theory and history of multiple interfaces

Michael, James, and Others,

I have tried to follow the multiple interfaces discussion and am currently
running the Beta.

Can someone offer up some real world examples of why (other than controlling
Ninja's, which I doubt if I ever will do) I would want more than one W800
for wireless/security and one Lynx-PLC for wireline?

Am I missing out on something good?  :-)
