OT: Network problem

My Linksys router appears to remember my machines' MAC addresses and keeps
the same IP for each.
I also have set the "Client Lease Time" to 9999 minutes, since I don't
need to reuse IPs very often. [I think that is about a week.]
Think you might need to reset or adjust router settings?

What does it mean when you say "... it loses its connection ..."?
What are you connecting to that you expect to maintain a TCP connection
for any period of time?
How does "... the connection stopped working ..." exhibit itself?
What tool are you using, when it "stops"?
What error message makes you think it has "stopped"?

Maybe with more info, someone here could help.
