Hi John,
If you're looking for 'quality'... I think you'll be disappointed in the
X10 cameras.
My feeling is that they are good enough for the surveillance job, but
not something that I would use to run a web Home Show ... :-)
Unless someone is very close to the camera (within 6 feet), you can't
expect to get enough details for identification.
But then consider the pictures you see from the ATM cameras that we
see in crime reports... I get better from my X10 cameras for sure.
At different times and lighting situations, I think that any camera could
be seen to be a poor performer in the applications that we want to
give them.
I would prefer to listen to what others have to say about these cameras.
I think that they are good for the price, and really as far as reliability
is concerned, I've beaten these up badly for at least 6 years, and they
continue to work ... I did just recently buy two 'low light' cameras that
are B/W, and see that they are indeed better in low light... I'm going
to install them in night time places soon and see what kind of creatures
will emerge...
others will have more info ... I'm sure !
