I was using an older Keyspan adaptor (I'd have to look at it tonight if 
you want the model number).  It was connected to my G4 server's USB 
port.  You had asked me numerous times to check the serial cable - and 
after about 3 checks to see if the screws were tight ;-), I thought I'd 
give this a try...

Are there any tests or logs snippets that you would like to see, etc.?
