Hi,
Weather data is available from various sources using WSDL (Web
Services Definition Language) or SOAP (Small Object Access Protocol)
which are part of the XML set of tools.
Basically, they provide a standardized way to query a web site and
get info back.
The US NOAA has started a (still experimental) Digital Forecast
Database. Unfortunately, it's for the continental US only.
From the site: "National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) Extensible
Markup Language (XML) is a service providing the public, government
agencies, and commercial enterprises with data from the National
Weather Service's (NWS) digital forecast database"
See:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/forecasts/xml/
http://weather.gov/ndfd/
I'll see if I can find some sources that are more international in scope.
Rob
